5 Tips for Keeping Your Eyes Healthy
If you are one of the lucky people, the worst change you have felt is spending more time in front of a screen. Working online, playing games, and binge-watching can be easily translated while looking at screens for an extended period.

1. For the sake of your eyes, take a break:
For many of us, we have spent a significant amount of our time switching from one screen to another. Taking care of your eyes, like other parts of your body, requires care and attention. The good news is that taking care of your eyes is quite easy and free, unlike the 24-inch screen.
Eye strain is a serious issue, so much so that it has a serious name: asthenopia. It may sound frightening, but often asthenopia is not severe and goes away after resting your eyes. The proper way to rest your eyes is to go to a different screen, like closing your laptop and scrolling through your phone, but we have the “20-20-20” rule. This means looking at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes.
This is one reason why going for a short walk can help your eyes feel refreshed and invigorated. Taking your dog for a walk in the park or just strolling around can mean that your eyes are able to focus on more distant objects, which can give your eyes a break from looking at those tiny pixels on your computer.

This can be difficult with a laptop, but by including an external keyboard, you can position the screen at the appropriate height. Also, adjust the brightness of your screen to match the level of your surroundings.

There is nothing surprising here. Your body needs proper nutrition and when it doesn’t get nurtured properly, it can’t do its job. Your eyes are included. Your lockdown habits are causing discomfort to not only your eyes but also your back (and liver). Frequent consumption of alcohol or saturated fats can trigger a reaction that can harm your vision. Foods high in saturated fat can also cause blockages in the arteries that limit blood flow. The eyes are particularly sensitive as they are fed by tiny blood vessels.
4. Moisturize your eyes:
This part is straightforward, it means avoiding staring at the screen. Not blinking enough can lead to two important things: firstly, it strains the meibomian glands which release tears and an oily layer to lubricate the eyes and clear debris from the tears. Secondly, it helps to clear foreign matter from the eye. This nourishes your cornea with moisture and a variety of different proteins and minerals. Therefore, you may need to seek assistance from some people to help you keep your eyes clean and moist. Artificial tears can help keep your eyes moist, which can alleviate dry eyes caused by stress. Look for lubricating eye drops that do not contain any protective gear for the eye.
5. Do not avoid visiting an eye doctor:
